Back in the Blogosphere...

Hello,

I've been away for a few days visiting my mother, sister, nieces and a couple of friends in Adelaide.  So no sewing or blogging for that period.

Today of course is that first day back, when you do some of the jobs that have stacked up, waiting for you.  The washing - mine and his.  Shopping.  Tidying.  Sorting out the paperwork (again).

I did manage to have a walk, and Spotlight (our local fabric and craft shop) is within walking distance.  Which suited me, because my mother (who is 88) is currently  enjoying doing some tapestry - and she said she needed some yellow and green tapestry wool.  Well, that is easy if you can get out and about and are close to a shop,  and I am and can,  so I have a little bundle to send her...

I also found some lawn to make a top that has had a muslin made.  I purchased a thread to go with it, but the light is so bad in Spotlight I can't really tell whether what I buy will be right.  It wasn't, but I looked in my stash and luckily found a thread that matched well enough. So, one out of the stash, and one into the stash. Status quo maintained :)

I'm very tired, so this evening I will have a quiet evening going through and sorting out some of my out of order stash. That should be most enjoyable - nothing quite like a stash session for restoring equilibrium. Then catch up on some blogs.

Do have an enjoyable evening everyone, wherever you are...

  3. Glad you're back! Sounds like a nice visit with your family. 88 and still able to do tapestry... truly amazing. Is that how you organize your 'stash'? I'd love to hear more about that!.... unless I've missed a post along the way. :)

    1. Thank you Lisa. Yes, my mother is amazing. And yes, that is how I organise my stash - I would have done a post months ago, but I will quickly do another in a day or so....

    1. Thank you L - although sometimes I think that you can be busier away than at home sometimes! But a change, as they say...

  5. It's always great to get away and have a break from things and I know what you mean about having to do the chores lol.. washing just never seems to end unfortunately. I'm sure your mother will love her gift of threads and will really appreciate what you bought for her. I have the same problem trying to match threads and fabrics as I usually have to buy online unless I buy up when I go on holidays which I tend to do. But I always manage to forget something or forget to write a list and take swatches of fabric with me before I go away LOL. Ah well it gives us another reason to have to do a little more shopping again.

    1. Hi Chris, it's lovely to catch up with you again. It's funny, whatever you buy, it's never quite the right shade, always needs something else to go with it, and so on...as you say about shopping. Yes, Mum will appreciate the threads, she'll probably say that I shouldn't have done it....you know what Mum's are like :)
