Hello Sewing Blog readers, Life caught up with me in quite a way over the last few years and had no time for blogging. In the meantime, the world has changed enormously, both in everyday reality and in the virtual reality of social media. Many sewers now post on Instagram. I enjoy Instagram, very much in moderation. Too much, and I soon overload and switch it off for a while. Perhaps because of more "instant" types of social media, sewing bloggers seem to have discontinued blogging and swapped platforms. In the meantime, I am left wondering if anyone reads sewing blogs any longer. If you do, perhaps you could leave me a comment and tell me what you like in a sewing blog or what sort of posts in a sewing, style and fashion blog (and perhaps allied crafts) you want to read. That's it for now, over to you for your comments, Take care Sarah Liz
Image taken from the Australian Academy of Image Facebook Page I t's a very long time since I have written a blog post. Life has been very full but not full of the activities that I enjoy! In other words, sewing and allied activities have taken a back seat while life rather took over. I don't want to go into details particularly. Of course, we all had Covid to deal wtih. My husband and I are also self employed, so had stresses associated with that. I got quite upset when people were enjoying Covid lockdowns so they could sew a lot! Jealous, almost... As for my husband, he had a bout of this and that over the last couple of years. I also have had a few health problems. My husband has a number of medical issues he manages well, but he is quite demorali
Hello everyone, This is a slightly different post from my usual posts about garments I have made. I will resume those next year...And I hope to get back to commenting and posting regularly. 2017 was a bit topsy turvy and challenging so I really found it hard to blog. This post is a long and wordy post, quite unlike my usual picture and quick notational style that I use for my sewing posts. But sometimes lots of words are necessary... Anyway, without further ado, To Business Some of you know that I facilitate the Make a Garment a Month Challenge on both Facebook (closed group) and Instagram. And some of you don't. Some of you are visiting this post because you found out about this challenge on Instagram and want to see what we are doing this year. And some of you may be regular readers of this blog but not know that I run this challenge. And some of you will want to join in. Make a Garment a Month has been running for some years now. It started with me mentio
